WELDERS / FABRICATORS

Job Description:

  • Fabricate pre-designed pieces for truck bodies using common metalworking tools (tape measure, angle grinder, plasma cutter, drill, flap disc, etc.)
  • Cut, fit and weld pieces of truck bodies together to create a functional and finished product with nominal specifications. The position involves primarily MIG welding activities.
  • Read and interpret dimensions and designs from a build sheet, blueprints, or verbal instructions to ensure the product is built correctly.
  • Other jobs may include: plasma cutting, oxy/acetylene equipment, punching, bending, drilling and other metal working processes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent), welding training, and prior welder experience required.
  • Experience with a variety of welding equipment and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents and drawings.
  • Understanding of all health and safety guidelines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able, to speak, read and comprehend basic English.

Work environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to dust, fumes, or airborne particles.
  • Welding of mild steel (7ga – 12 ga) and stainless steel.
  • Required: steel toed boots.
  • Shift hours: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Overtime when necessary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain appropriate work records, travelers and time card.
  • Communicates supply needs to shop foreman.
  • Follow safety rules and wear appropriate clothing.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Create and develop truck equipment’s, such as various truck bed solutions as well as snow and Ice control equipment’s in SolidWorks environment. You work as head Engineer at our plant in Forth Wayne USA, in close collaboration with the team in FINLAND, ensuring the product meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Project Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects related to snow and ice equipment and truck beds, from initial concept through to production and implementation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers overseas and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with other project components, particularly in the context of snow and ice equipment.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, drawings to support project development and compliance with regulations specific to snow and ice equipment for and truck beds.
  • Update professional knowledge of snow/ice and truck equipment industry – study industry trends, become familiar with methods and materials for snow/ice control, understand prevailing legislative requirements of service area as it relates to winter maintenance operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles (2 years), CAD software (such as SolidWorks or equivalent 3D software), and simulation tools. Familiarity with materials science and metal fabrication processes is also important.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and develop effective solutions, particularly in the context of snow and ice equipment and truck beds.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and clients. Ability to prepare clear and concise technical drawings and product documentation.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in design, testing, and documentation.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with other engineers, designers, and departments to achieve project objectives.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities, and to learn new technologies and methods as needed.
